Full renovation, reconfiguration and extension of a Grade II listed Arts and Crafts house situated in the Hampstead Garden Suburb Conservation Area.
The challenge of the brief was to provide contemporary living spaces whilst celebrating the character of the listed building. We did this by introducing new materials, joinery and colours and placing these alongside carefully preserved original building elements.
A side extension was built with a traditional crown roof discretely integrating a large sliding rooflight. The result is a large dine-in kitchen extension that feels modern, bright and airy and at the same time in-keeping with the historic character of the building.

The brief was to maximise light and space with a contemporary glazed extension whilst celebrating the traditional features of the Edwardian semi-detached house.
The clients wanted a 'dormer that doesn't look like a dormer' which lead to the use red zinc cladding and a minimal framed sliding glass door.
On the ground floor a large, oak picture window creates a framed view of the garden. A fully glazed roof supported by steel fins floods the kitchen with natural light. Within the fins we integrated discrete LED strips to illuminate the space in both an elegant and functional manner.

A small extension transformed the corner of this 1970s terraced house into a reading room for the client. The expansive glass corner makes the space bright and enjoyable. Bespoke bookcases line the room housing the client's expansive collection of books. Both internally and externally detailed precision has gone into creating a serene environment for the clients to enjoy.

A balcony for a Victorian terraced house that functions as a means of accessing the garden and an extension of the living space. We worked closely with skilled craftsmen in an iterative and collaborative way to create something refined and unique for our client.

A backland garage was developed into an entirely new two bedroom property complete with its own courtyard. Surreptitious glazing floods light into the constrained site creating an oasis in an urban corner of London.

This feasibility study was undertaken for a prominent central London site. The two adjacent terraced buildings are local landmarks with notable historic features. A careful mediation of the various occupants and stakeholders was required. Our priority was to restore the buildings to their former glory, create new signage and maximise usable floorspace.

The internal reconfiguration and refurbishment of a traditional Arts and Crafts house in the Hampstead Garden Suburb Conservation Area.
During the wholesale reorganisation of this house we've taken the opportunity to introduce crittall glazing and a new set of stairs to let natural light flood through the house on all levels.
A carefully chosen palette of traditional and modern materials and details give the house a classic feel with a twist of contemporary.

The full refurbishment and extension of a Victorian end of terrace in Chiswick. We retained the traditional upper floors of the house and created a bright and contemporary loft and lower ground floor extension using modern materials and large glass roof lights.
A new set of modern stairs leads down to one enormous open plan space, seamlessly incorporating the garden though the use of fold-away glass doors and a flush threshold.

The client enjoys the joyful and expressive materials we used throughout the house, giving this old treasure of a property a new lease on life.
